More details about keeping your existing 79 or 99 number
Keeping your existing number and switching to melita mobile is known as Mobile number portability. We refer to it as porting in your number.
You will need to present your ID card at one of our retail outlets or authorised resellers and we will take care of the rest.
It normally takes about four hours for the number to be switched on to melita mobile. It could take longer but we will give you a temporary number to tie you over until the port in goes through. So you will leave our outlet with 2 SIM cards - a Melita Sim with a 77 number and your existing 99 or 79 Sim. Both numbers will be working normally. When the port in goes through your Vodafone or Go Sim Card will stop working and your Melita Sim Card will have your 79 or 99 number on it and working.
