From June 15th 2017 when you travel within the EU you’ll be able to use your phone as you do in Malta, without extra charges, and incoming calls or SMS will be free. If your plan includes allowances for calls, SMS or data, your usage abroad in the EU will be counted exactly as if you were at home in Malta, and if you use more than your monthly allowance any charges will be charged as if you are in Malta.
However, if your plan includes free calls or SMS allowances to Melita numbers, it’s important to remember that as soon as you leave Malta you won’t be using the Melita network. This means that calls or SMS to Melita numbers will be deducted from any allowances of calls or SMS to other networks, or your standard rates to call or send SMS to other networks will apply.
