Melita Mobile reaches 60,000 subscribers

Melita Mobile has hit the record figure of 60,000 mobile telephony subscribers achieving a market share of over 11% in just 3 years since launch. Official statistics published by the Malta Communications authority for the period January to March 2012 also indicate that Melita’s mobile clients account for almost a quarter of all the mobile calls originating from Malta.

“This is a great achievement for Melita. While our customers call more than the average Maltese customer, they spend less as our prices are the lowest in Malta. We are also registering a very positive trend in customer satisfaction as our mobile coverage continues to improve significantly”, commented Ludolf Rasterhoff, Chief Operations Officer at Melita.

Earlier this month, Melita Mobile completed a series of network upgrades aimed at improving indoor mobile coverage in 10 sites spread over four key localities. The localities are Valletta, Birkirkara, Mosta and Fgura.

Melita Mobile, is the fastest growing mobile operator in Malta, and remains the best value offer in Malta with prepaid rates for as low as 10c per minute to any local network. In various reports, both the European Commission and the Malta Communications Authority indicated Melita Mobile as the main driver for reduction in mobile telephony rates.
