Can I get 5G now?

Yes! our Endless mobile plans and Plug n Learn plan are now on 5G; you’ll need a 5G capable device that supports 5G access in Malta and you’re good to go!

If you are on a different plan, have a 5G enabled device and would like to get 5G, contact us here.

How much extra do I pay for 5G?

All our Endless plans are now on our 5G network, at no extra cost, with 5G plans from €24.99.

Which mobile phones work with 5G?

Newer models from major manufacturers are sold as 5G ready, and we have some great deals on 5G ready phones, starting from €269. Please see here for more info.

In some cases the manufacturer needs to enable 5G access in Malta. We are working with Apple and Samsung as these manufacturers need to issue a software update to enable their phones for 5G; our best view is that this will be from July 2021.

How fast is 5G?

Our 5G network can reach speeds up to 1,000 Mbps or 1 gigabit per second. At any time the speed your device gets will depend on the maximum speed your device can reach and other factors, such as your location

Will I get 5G abroad?

More of mobile operators across the world are switching to 5G, as they do we are working with our international roaming partners to give our customers access to 5G when they travel.

I am on Pre Paid plan, can I get 5G?

If you have a 5G enabled device and would like to get 5G, you’ll need to switch to one of our Endless mobile plans. Contact us here.

What's the difference between 5G and 4G?

5G is the next generation of mobile networks, coming after 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. 5Gis faster with much lower latency; the higher bandwidth means more devices can benefit from faster internet connections at the same time.

My phone is "5G" but I cannot connect to Melita 5G. What should I do?

Even if your phone is 5G ready, your handset manufacturer may need to switch 5G on for Malta. Please make sure that you have installed the latest operating system so you get 5G enabled as soon as it is released.

My WiFi at home is on 5G already, what's the difference?

WiFi is a technology that operates on 2 frequency bands – 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The term 5G when used in the context of Wifi refers the 5GHz Wifi band.
5G, in the mobile technology context, refers to the generation of the mobile technology.

What do the emissions readings show?
