Status – In a relationship, with a 13-year-old son and a 2-year old Dachshund


I first joined Melita as a Contact Centre agent 9 years ago, where I took calls from customers who required assistance on issues related to their subscribed service. I later moved on to quality control and then back to the Contact Centre where I took on the role of supervisor.

Today, I work as a Training and Development Executive, helping employees within the company to grow their knowledge base and skills. Our team makes sure that members of staff are given enough opportunities to learn and get further training, this helps them to stay motivated and allows them to grow.  As a company, Melita believes greatly in investing in its people and therefore takes this area very seriously.  On a day to day basis, I take care of planning, developing and providing training programmes. I also conduct orientation sessions for new recruits. The team also organises a number of company workshops and team-building events, which allow employees to learn, engage and have fun. I have an amazing team of colleagues, which make work much more enjoyable!

Before I joined the telecommunications industry, I worked as a pastry chef in a Sicilian Pasticceria for three years. I loved the amazing work that we did – from small mini pastries to huge wedding cakes, however, technology is something that has always fascinated me and the fast pace and growth opportunities within Melita pulled me towards joining the organisation and change career path completely. Having said that, I still miss the scent of croissants at four in the morning!

I love the culture at Melita – it is so amazing! The team is so diverse, with people of different ages and backgrounds. This provides for diversity and innovation and all in all, a great company. I have many fond memories of the past nine years at Melita. One which comes to mind is a treasure hunt which was held a couple of years ago, in which, as groups, we had to complete tasks around Malta, finishing off with an awesome swimming challenge.

Away from the office, I’m a globe trotter – I love travelling – something that I indulge in every chance I get, together with my fiancée.  My favourite place to date has got to be Prague because it is like walking in a medieval city, with so much history and huge parks to explore. Prague will always hold a special place in my heart. The next trip I am planning is Japan. The unique way of life and the diverse scenery drew me to it in the first place – I look forward to exploring this amazing country.

I am honoured to be part of the Melita team. Being part of a company that believes in its employees, experiencing a fast-paced atmosphere, and being committed to excellence is wonderful. If one wants to be part of the leading edge, then they should join our team!

During my time here, I have learnt how to be pro-active and what it means to be kept on your toes. I have learned to adhere to strict deadlines and become self-disciplined. Being part of a leading company has taught me how to always be three steps ahead and pay attention to the details. It has helped me to grow, both in my career, and personally.
