As a Marketing Executive, at Melita, I get to spend a lot of money which is something I love. I handle the budget for media buying, advertising, and programme placements, and I am also responsible for sponsorship deals. All this means that I get to meet many different people from all walks of life, be involved in many different events and activities, always making sure that Melita’s name is exposed favourably.
Before joining Melita I worked in the entertainment industry, also as a Marketing Executive, but when I first made the switch to Melita I joined the door-to-door sales team, as a Sales and Events Coordinator. Eventually, I was promoted to Sales Campaign Coordinator which involved a lot of sales reporting.
I always found the culture at Melita to be friendly and open. Management has an open-door policy, and employees from different departments have a very welcoming and collaborative approach to one another. Being chosen to form part of the marketing team as a Marketing Executive was probably the best moment of my career to date – a moment I will never forget. I will always remember the feeling of euphoria when my senior manager informed me that I had been chosen for the role.
With having to juggle two kids and a family, it is essential to have good work practices and collaborative workmates to balance out the day. I’m very lucky to have both which has resulted in an excellent work experience from day one.
For this reason and many others, I would not hesitate to recommend working for Melita to anyone. Every single day presents different challenges, which is what keeps me so motivated. Melita is not just a place of work, it is where I found a second family. It’s energetic, dynamic, and a place that helps me grow both personally and professionally.
