In my role as a Digital Sales Executive at Melita, I ensure that clients are well-assisted through live chat, online requests and other platforms, such as WhatsApp communication and telephone. I also provide client-focused solutions that are essential for the company’s development.
Apart from sales, I also assist clients with billing and technical issues and work hand in hand with other leading departments to ensure the client is satisfied with the overall service.
The role requires a lot of multi-tasking – one needs to be able to work across various platforms while handling queries. I need to ensure that as a team, we reach our monthly targets, promoting and selling products to potential clients and providing better packages for our existing ones. At Melita, we truly believe that the after-sales service is a priority. Clients need to have a good experience not only during the sales period but also after the sale is done. We need to maintain a constant relationship with the customer. The digital platform is ever-growing and it plays a crucial part for the company. Particularly during the pandemic, the digital services has become more important than ever and Melita continued to invest in more digital solutions than ever before.
I joined Melita back in July 2018 as a Telesales agent, conducting outbound calls to identify customers’ needs and provide them with relevant Melita products. In this role I became aware of my real passion for sales. That’s when I decided that I wanted to develop my skills in this area and worked towards that.
The environment at Melita is one that cares for the well-being of its employees. There is the right structure in place, and it is also very team-oriented. An open-door policy allows us employees to share our ideas and concerns freely. Each employee within the company counts.
Melita organises various team-building and training events for all employees. One memory that I will surely remember is the last team-building event we had, when we had to carry out very random tasks such as wearing a Holy Communion dress, jogging with a complete stranger, singing in the streets, and even swimming in a cold weather. I feel that such team buildings activities are key to building better relationships between us employees.
Melita also allows for a work-life balance. Being organised and working with a great team makes this possible. In addition, the management and supervisors make sure that when we require personal time, we get the support required. The company also believes in remote working and we get to shift between working from the office and working from home. Teleworking definitely allows for a better work-life balance, as it reduces commuting time. It also allows us to adjust the right time schedule according to our personal lives and the needs of the company.
