Setting the Arris 3442 and TG4441B to Bridge/Router mode

The modem is on router mode by default which means that the public IP (IP address assigned by the ISP) is set automatically by the modem.

Router mode is used when your devices are connected to the modem, and no other routers are connected.

When set to bridge mode, the modem acts as a bridge with another device, for example, an external router. In this case, the public IP will be set by the customer’s personal equipment such as an external router.

How to change the modem to bridge mode:

Access the modem interface using the website – 192.168.0.1

· As username type “admin”. and as a password, type “password”.

· Click Login

From the Summary tab, toggle the Bridge Mode switch if you’d like to change the modem settings.

If you cannot access the user interface, reset the modem by pressing the reset button on the back for 10 seconds. Any configured settings will be lost.
