Tuesday, September 19, 2017 by Melita

Melita will be the internet provider to Malta’s biggest eSports event. Organised by leading eSports organization – Quickfire – the event called “Nova Series 1” will be held between the 21st and 24th of September at the InterContinental Arena Conference Centre in St. Julians.

Melita will be the official telecoms partner for Quickfire for the next 12 months.

Competitive video gaming, or eSports, as it is better known, has taken the world by storm, featuring professional players competing in televised tournaments for millions of euros in prize money every year.

Such events require fast and seamless internet connectivity to meet the needs of the hundreds of gamers participating. To this end, Melita will be providing business-grade connectivity through a dedicated internet over fibre connection usually associated with iGaming and Financial services companies. During the event Melita will also be talking about the imminent roll-out of 1Gbps internet and its role in providing fast home internet connections ideal for gaming enthusiasts.

“We’re thrilled to have Melita on board as one of our main partners for the coming year,” says Nicolai Gauci, COO of Quickfire. “Making local brands aware of the massive potential that lies within the gaming and eSports sector, and how they can get involved, has been one of our core missions from day one. We’re glad to see that our message is getting across with such enthusiasm, and we look forward to working with Melita as market leaders in fast and efficient internet services.”

“Melita has long been established as the fastest internet service provider in Malta and the preferred choice for gamers. The upcoming 1Gbps launch will take this to the next level,” says Mireille Muscat, Head of Marketing of Melita.
